Home Improvements + Kids = Fun

That's right, doing home improvements with your kids can be fun. Believe it or not!

I decided to tackle our small half bathroom near our family room. It was in dire need of a paint job. The kids and I head off to Home Depot to find paint and supplies.

This may be hard to believe but -- they were actually helpful when it came to painting. There is only one little streak of paint on the wooden molding that gives an indication that a four-year-old and six-year-old were part of our paint crew.

This post is participating in Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday

It is wonderful that they were helpful. My little one is not so helpful with some projects.

I used to love to let my kids join in when they were little, now they just think it's a chore! My favorite was that first coat, when they really felt like they were drawing on the wall. Good job, Mom!

Cute colors. Do we get to see an "after" when it is all done!? Good for you for letting them help!

Sounds like fun! My girls love to help with things like painting ... too bad they don't love cleaning the kitchen or bathrooms quite as much!

I bet they had a ball helping, and maybe just maybe, they will take a little bit better care of something they helped "create".

Wow you are brave. I'm afraid I always blocked off rooms I painted when my children were that young.

You. Are. A. Very. Brave. Woman!

I am impressed. And I applaud the fact that you are teaching your small (adorable) children work ethics so young.

This was really an inspiring link to Alphabe-Thursday.

I am totally, totally impressed with you!

PS. Like the colors, too.

When I was around 10, one evening my mom told us that we were going to paint our bedroom the next day, Saturday. I was so excited that I was up at 6 in the morning, and all ready to paint. I was told that it was way too early!! I was disappointed.
